Skill Review and Technical Proficiency Test
This component of the course is to ensure that you have a basic foundation in all areas of communications technology and a deeper understanding in areas of your interest that you are pursuing your ISU. Furthermore, we are going to work on completing this project as a a large class study group.
There are several reasons why we are doing this:
A word of caution: This will feel like a messy process as we make meaning as a group. At times it will feel like we are fumbling forward but as we get into the project it will start to make more sense. I encourage all of you to reach out to your peers to help organize and find information.

- model how you could work on a course at the college and university level with fellow students
- practice our team work and project management skills
- decentre the more traditional "teacher know everything /students are empty vessels to be filled" model of education. This model is more student centred by allowing students to be more active in their learning.

a. Complete this personal review of skills and projects that you have experienced in school or outside of school. I will ask you to upload the file and a summary of results on your portfolio. jammedia skills profile (if you see have your file from last year, feel free to update it)
b. Review the different headings on the resources page. These headings are based on the curriculum expectations. Many of these pages are empty because you will be finding resources for them. c. Submit your ideas for what are the major topics and concepts you see as important. This is a google form and the results will be kept confidential. |
